The moment many have been waiting for is here! Time to reveal my Serenity Starfield Dress and Xenomorph Zippy Top!
SERENITY STARFIELD DRESS – Now taking custom orders!
I designed the fabric pattern and just love it! The dress pattern is called Myrtle from Colette Patterns, which was printed via Sprout Patterns/Spoonflower on a performance knit material. The pattern is very flattering on all body types. It took me about 5-6 hrs to sew up (first time patterns always take a bit longer, as does sewing a sensitive jersey type material!)
The material is soft, drapey and oh so colourful! I can’t wait to wear this to Comic Con!! I also can’t wait till someone want me to make a dress just for them!
XENOMORPH ZIPPY TOP- Now taking custom orders!
I also designed this fabric pattern inspired by the Aliens movies! The top pattern is called Zippy Top from See Kate Sew, which was printed via Sprout Patterns/Spoonflower on cotton lawn material.
I thought this might end up looking too boxy, but really love how it turned out and the zipper is a classy addition! While they claim you can sew it up in 30 min, this first one took me about 3 hrs to sew up (again first time patterns always take longer, so as not to f#$* it up.)
The material hangs well and washes great-some throw a tank top under it, but I’m always too hot, so I like the cool cotton. I also can’t wait to wear this to Comic Con!!
While I never dreamed of being able to design my own fabric and then use them to create such cool clothing, I do have to say it is so very rewarding to know that I am able to express creative geekiness through speciality fabrics!
If you are coming to Comic Con be sure to stop by to see the creations and say hi in Artist Alley!
STAY TUNED…
